Welcome to our Virtual Run from Land’s End to John O’Groats via Leicester Challenge
This is our first ever virtual event and we are also supporting Rainbows Hospice for Children and Young People (50% of all donations will go to Rainbows Hospice for Children and Young People).
Due to Covid-19, we have opted to make this a virtual run, across the UK. By taking part, you will be helping to raise money to support our youth projects and support the amazing work done by Rainbows.
As an added bonus we will also pass through Leicester, in what maybe the worlds first version of this run! To take part simply click on the registration button (it will take you to another site called MyVirtualMission) and join the run, create an account, pay the registration fee and you’re good to go. Instructions on how to create a team are inside the ‘Teams’ tab.
From the launch date, you and your team have 30 days to complete the walk and raise money for an amazing Charity.
We ask that you get all your sponsors to donate (button below) within 2 weeks of your completing your run.
Our Charity Partner
As the East Midlands’ only hospice for children and young people, They provide vital care and support to families impacted by life-limiting conditions.
Your support means Rainbows can provide end of life care, symptom management, short breaks and respite care. They can also be there to support parents and siblings through their bereavements.
Thier team are there for families when they need them the most, but they couldn’t do thier work without the help of people like you.
Together we can bring more love, smiles and laughter to our children, young people and families.
Saturday 18th July 2020
You can register your place right now, but the event will not start until Saturday 18th July. That means you will not be able to log any steps until then. The fee to register starts from £7.00 and this will get you into the event. You will also receive a welcome letter and runner number by email (certificates will be sent via email on completion). If you want a tshirt and/or medal please choose the the Silver or Gold level registration package (whichever is appropriate).
Once you have registered, you should start asking people to sponsor you. You can collect the sponsorships anyway you like but the money must be donated through our donation link below. You can ask your sponsors to do this directly or you can collect cash and pay it in on thier behalf, using the link below.
Teams
Because the distance is so long, we are also enabling people complete it in teams. This means you can team up with your nan, or school mates or colleagues. Even if you aren’t living together (or in the same country), you can each register your place and then contribute to the total distance. Please note, account sharing is not permitted and can lead to your account being suspended.
Different Exercises
Regardless of the type of exercises you do, you can use this conversation chart (http://www.myvirtualmission.com/blog/105-activities-converted-steps-miles/) that can help you to convert that exercise in steps. So regardless of what you do you can use it towards your step count.
Fees and donations

How can donations help
Thanks to supporters like you, we have already supported hundreds of young people across Leicester and Leicestershire by providing volunteering places, projects and support. Every penny counts, especially during this lockdown that has come soon after a time when year on year cuts to youth services meant many young people were already being left out. This makes it even more important that we raise as much as possible to continue providing safe and practical opportunities for young people to grow and develop.
Thank you so much for wanting to fundraise for Rainbows Hospice for Children and Young People, your support means the world to us, our children, young people and families. Did you know, we look after over 400 children and young people with life-limiting conditions, living right here in the East Midlands. Eight out of ten of these children, young people and families are funded by people like you, taking part in our events, giving donations and buying from our shops. 50% of all donations from this event will go to Rainbows Hospice for Children and Young People
Feel free to print this sponsorship form to help you raise money
