Recycling Bin Design Competition 2019

To celebrate a year of recycling writing equipment, through Terracycle, we are launching a FREE competition for all the schools that are registered as Recycling Ambassadors, for us. We are inviting pupils from the schools, supporting our scheme, to design our new look recycling boxes for the writing equipment scheme, by designing the lid cover and front cover for our new writing instrument recycling boxes. The winners of the competition will win free recycling boxes for their school and Highcross shopping voucher worth up to £10. All entries must be submitted by Friday 6th December, 11.59pm. How to enter

Teachers: Either through an assembly, talk to class or by printing off the leaflets and handing them out, encourage your pupils to take part in the competition.

Entrants: Download the template provided on our website. Either make your designs on a computer or print off the templates and hand draw them. Once complete, either you, your parents or your teacher can upload them to the link below. Make sure to provide all the information, otherwise you will not be registered to take part in the competition (If you are under 14 years old, we recommend using a parents email address for entries). Follow us on Instagram (@cog_ltd) and vote on the final shortlist for the winning design. We will contact all winners directly to arrange for prize givings. We aim to have the new bins available and all prizes to be issued by 31st Jan 2020.

The Brief

To design the lid and front cover of our new recycling boxes for the Writing Instruments scheme (See Recycling Ambassadors).

Judging Process

We work with a group of dedicated 13-18 years olds from across Leicester and Leicestershire. Once the deadline has passed, these young people will shortlist all the entries to their top 5 designs. Once the Top 5 have been picked, it will go to a public vote via our Instagram Page (@cog_ltd).

Prizes

1st Place: £10 Highcross Shopping voucher and a recycling box for their school.

2nd – 5th Place: £5 Highcross Shopping Voucher and 50% off a recycling box* for their school.

Every school represented, by at least 1 entry, in the competition will receive 50% off a recycling box* for their school.

*only applies to the first recycling box. Any additional boxes must be purchased at full price.

There is no registration fee to enter the event.

You can enter as many designs as you like.

Your designs must be made using the templates provided.

Entrants must be aged under 18 year old.

Entrants must be a pupil at a school that is registered as a Recycling Ambassador for COG Youth Services.

COG Youth Services can use any designs submitted to publicise the Event for commercial and/or fundraising purposes including, but not limited to, television broadcasts, advertising, publications, marketing material, merchandising, and other documents that may be made available to the public

Participants under the aged of 13 must submit designs with the consent of an appropriate adult.

All entrants have a right to withdraw their designs, at any point before Tuesday 31st December 2019, 11.59pm.
