Calling all individuals, groups, organisations and schools. Become a Recycling Ambassador to help keep Leicester clean and promote the importance of the 3 R’s (Reduce, Reuse and Recycle).

Recycling Ambassadors are individuals, groups or organisations that champions environmentally friendly solutions to help reduce the amount of waste we produce and to ensure we recycle as much waste as possible. Ambassadors might also look at how to improve recycling thier workplace, school or in thier local community.

This could be as simple as recycling more at home, supporting your neighbours to recycle better, undertaking local litter picks, negotiating public collection points for specific plastics, lobbying your MP, setting up a special recycling point at your local school or helping us to create blogs or vlogs about recycling.

All households are required to recycle and each council provides services for this. To see what items your council can recycle, go to your councils website.
Leicester City Council: https://www.leicester.gov.uk/your-environment/recycling-and-waste/
Leicestershire County Council: https://www.leicestershire.gov.uk/environment-and-planning/waste-and-recycling

In addition to this we are registered, with Terracycle, to collect certain items for recycling. These items (or parts of certain items) cannot currently be recycled by Leicester City or Leicestershire County Councils and therefore end up in landfill or incinerated. As an organisation, we are committed to investing in the future, therefore we want to recycle as much as possible. If you have any of the items below please collect them in a seperate bag and donate them to one of our collection points. collection point on the Terracycle website.

Every item we recycle through Terracycle is awarded points and these points can then be converted to a financial amount and donated to a Charity or Not-For-Profit of the registered collectors choice. As a Not-For-Profit organisation, we use our points to support our youth groups across Leicester and Leicestershire. If you would prefer to support another cause then feel free to go to the Terracycle website and find another local registered collector to donate your items to. Each point is currently valued at 1p.
